The WebQuest was designed as an E-Learning activity for the students to complete it individually. It will require an estimated 60 minutes to complete the whole task. Students would have already gone through most of the content in class; which most of the information are given in their History textbook. Students will read through the scenario that is given in the introduction and will proceed with reading the given task. Before students begin reading the resources given, they will be asked to write a few words or phrases in the comment box of the Webquest page for them to state their initial understanding of the concept of Self-governance.The comments will only be approved and shown when the whole class has commented, this is to prevent the students from copying each others' work. Students will then focus their attention to the process in which they will have to access the given resources / links and read up on the two Merdeka talks. This is an important part in their learning process as they are required to use the information to analyze and evaluate the contributions of both David Marshall and Lim Yew Hock towards Singapore’s self-governance. Upon completing the reading and viewing of the resources, students are required to take two quizzes which cover the topic of the two Merdeka talks. This is to check whether students have successfully comprehended the information which they have just gone through. In addition, students will be able to check their own understanding of the topic and make necessary improvements. After completing the online task, students are tasked to write a 200-300 word essay on the following: "Why do you think Singapore was unable to achieve full internal self-government after the 2 Merdeka talks?" They will need to use Microsoft Word and email their work to the teacher at the given email address. Students are given the weekends to complete this written assignment. Teacher will collect all the online assignment to be marked and returned back to the student through their individual emails. Teacher will then give comments to the class on the WebQuest activity and garner feedbacks on the overall tasks. |
